Our shop is a magical place. A carpenters woods with his tools, an artists works with his hands, and a craftsmen works with his tools, his hands and his heart.
There's 3 basic things in our shop at the Wolf's Den, a lot of wood, a couple sets of hands, and a lot of heart.
Our woodworking shop differs from most shops, in one aspect the lack of tools. Most of our creations are made by hand with old fashion tools, chisels, malls, draw knifes, sandpaper & small power tools. The most often used tool is our knowledge of wood.
One any given day of the week, you never know what you will find in our shop, and what signs of progress. Any one job will be in. You might find a mantle in the first stage of shaping process, doors for a kitchen in the glue up process, a stair case railing being sized and cut, a oak counter top being glued and clamped and or a tree with the bard being peeled to make a log bed.
Our 4000 sq ft shop is cooled in the summer by the breeze of the wind and heated in the winter with our woodworking scraps in a wood fired boiler.
One thing is certain you will always find Woody our 9 year old Shepard Collie husky dog watching over us, unless he's napping on his couch. Woody has one of the most rewarding jobs at the Wolf's Den store, greeting customers & getting petted all day. |
